- Symmetry in Flight captures a rare moment where the rigid, unyielding world of industrial engineering meets the fluid capability of the human body. Set against the rhythmic, repeating steel beams of the Walnut Street Bridge, the image highlights a powerful juxtaposition. While the bridge is built of heavy iron and fixed in place, the dancer mirrors that same structural strength through a precise, athletic leap. The title refers to how the dancer’s form aligns with the bridge’s architecture—the angle of her limbs echoing the geometric "V" shapes of the trusses. By stripping away color in favor of a monochromatic finish, the focus remains entirely on these shapes, textures, and the shared "grace" found in both man-made landmarks and natural movement. It is a study of balance, showing that even the heaviest environments can feel weightless when met with the right momentum.
